Coexistence of lung alveolar adenoma with bronchogenic cyst: a case report and literature review

چکیده
Alveolar adenoma (AA) is extremely rare benign tumor of the lung. This tumor is comprised of proliferative type II alveolar epithelium and septal mesenchyma and shows characterized immunohistochemical patterns. Up to date, there have been only few reports describing this disease. Here we described a case of alveolar adenoma in a 48-year-old woman. This female patient was incidentally found to have a left lower lobe mass by the chest CT scan and went through a left lower lobectomy. A nodule were observed and the pathological and immunohistochemical examinations of the surgically resected nodule revealed this lesion to be an alveolar adenoma. In addition, an isolated bronchogenic cyst was also observed. The postoperative course was uneventful and no recurrence was observed after 5 years. In conclusion, we reported the rare disease of Alveolar adenoma coexisting with bronchogenic cyst. Besides, we also gave a literature review of previously published papers describing alveolar adenoma.

Coexisting Pituitary Adenoma and Suprasellar Meningioma: A Coincidence or Causation Effect? Report of Two Cases and Review of Literature
Background and Importance: The coexistence of pituitary adenoma and another type of brain tumor is a very rare clinical scenario. Even though such a presentation can be an incidental event but the possible pathogenesis of coexistence of different lesions in the sella and suprasellar region has not yet been elucidated. Case Presentation: Two cases of concomitant sellar and suprasellar region ...

Silicosis is considered to be among the occupational lung diseases and associated with sandblasting, mining, quarrying and tunneling. Acute silicosis is usually progressive diseaseand despite treatment with corticosteroids it leads to cardio-respiratory failure and death. Alveolar silicoproteinosis is one of it’s acute presentations due to exposure to silica dust and lungs filling with protei...
متن کاملCoexistence of Intrapulmonary Bronchogenic Cyst and Congenital Cystic Adenomatoid Malformation
Development of the respiratory system begins at 3 weeks gestation, and aberrations in the developmental processes may give rise to a group of structural abnormalities collectively referred to as bronchopulmonary foregut malformations (BPFMs). The common BPFMs include congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM), pulmonary sequestration, congenital lobar emphysema, and bronchogenic cysts (B...
متن کاملManagement of Fetal Bronchogenic Lung Cysts: A Case Report and Short Review of Literature
Congenital malformations of the lung (CML) are rare with similar embryological and clinical spectra and could result in mortality if left untreated. Bronchogenic cysts are formed during the budding of the tracheal diverticula and ventral foregut in the embryological period. In this paper we want to present a case of bronchogenic cyst with continuous intrauterine cyst aspiration follow-up. After...
متن کاملRetroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst: a case report
Bronchogenic cysts are among developmental disorders of the primitive foregut which are typically found above the diaphragm. Bronchial cysts discovered in the abdominal cavity or retroperitoneum are extremely rare. We present a rare case of a retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst which was incidentally detected after a wrestling injury in a 23-year-old man who had a negative medical history. Alth...
